The federal lawmaker representing Ikorodu Constituency 1, Mr Babajimi Benson, says Nigeria must look toward technology to overcome challenges posed by manual voting in the country.
Benson spoke against the backdrop of Saturday’s governorship and state assembly polls.
“With all the challenges that manual voting has posed to us a nation, I will advice INEC to adopt full use of technology.
“It will solve a lot of problems created by manual voting and will also allow people in the Diaspora participate in our elections,”he said.
The lawmaker, however, commended INEC for improving on the hiccups experienced in the presidential and national assembly elections during Saturday’s exercise.
He also commended voters for coming out to perform their civic duty in his area.
Mr Sanai Agunbiade, a state lawmaker, said enlightenment of voters ahead of the election helped in achieving the turnout witnessed in the area.
Mr Babatunde Rotinwa, Chairman, Lagos State Local Government Service Commission, on his part, commended INEC for bringing the election materials early in the area——-NAN
