BUA Foundation Gives Kano, Lagos, FG N 3.3 Billion To Fight Coronavirus

BUA Foundation has  donated N3.3 billion  to Kano State, Lagos State and the presidential task force on COVID-19.

The Chairman of the  BUA Group, Abdul Samad Rabiu, said  in a statement that the continued spread of the virus despite efforts geared  towards containing it necessitated the need for the grant.

“Based on what is going on especially in Kano at the moment, we have decided in the immediate, to commit a N3.3 billion grant to a working group made of the presidential task force, NCDC and other stakeholders in equipping two existing permanent facilities in Lagos and Kano states, whilst collaborating with the teaching hospitals in those states, ”  he said.

According to him, N2 billion was allocated to Kano intervention, adding that N1 billion would go to Lagos, the epicentre of the virus in the country.

He added that N300 million would be donated in cash to the presidential task force to cover for logistic expenses.

The statement added that the working group of the foundation would harness resources at its reach to expand the scope of the intervention.

BUA Sugar Refinery had donated N1billion to the Coalition Against COVID-19, a private sector coalition aimed at raising intervention funds.
