COVID-19: FCT Leads Daily Infections Again As NCDC Confirms 462 Cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 462 new COVID-19 cases in the country.

The NCDC made this known on its official twitter handle on Friday.

According to figures announced, the agency said the total number of infections climbed to 43,151.

The NCDC said Nigeria had successfully treated a total of 19,565 Covid-19 patients, while fatalities from the virus rose to 879.

The new infections were recorded in 16 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

A breakdown of the new infections showed that the FCT recorded the highest number of infections in the space of two days.

The NCDC had said that the number of cases in the country would increase with the activation of new testing laboratory in its network.

On Friday, the centre activated two new laboratories – Molcular Diagnostics Lab, Gombe State Specialist Hospital, and United Nations IOM Lab, FCT.

There are currently 61 laboratories with capacity to test for Covid-19.
