Dr Ademuyiwa Eniayewun, Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Health Service Commission, on Friday tasked health personnel on qualitative and selfless service to enhance healthcare delivery in the state.
Eniayewun stated this at a a two-day Y2021 Strategic Management Retreat organised by the Orile Agege General Hospital (OAGH) in Lagos.
The theme of the programme is ” Dynamic Leadership and Governance Structure for Public Hospitals: Shifting the Paradigm for OAGH’.
He said: “It is our duty as health personnel to render quality service to patients to enhance health delivery in the state which is in line with the T.HE.M.E.S agenda of Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
” The Governor has assured that he will leave no stone unturned until our hospitals are patients friendly, and he is really doing enough, things are getting better by the day.
“The government is working on this, to make OAGH and other general hospitals render qualitative services that will improve the health of the people”.
The permanent secretary commended the OAGH management for organising such a laudable retreat, noting that the management is placing a lot of premium on its staff which was vital.
He urged participants at the retreat to re-evaluate themselves, noting that the project of transformation of the hospital was achievable, visible and everyone must be committed towards.
” The response we are getting from the patients is very encouraging and with adequate and successful management, the human traffic will not be a burden, OAGH has the potential.
“I hope this retreat will serve as a motivation to all participants present at this retreat to give their all for the good of humanity.
Speaking earlier, Dr Sola Pitan, Managing Director of OAGH, assured patients of optimal health care service to meet the T.H.E.M.E.S. agenda of Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Pitan noted that the quest to transform and scale up health professionals’ education, training and capacity was crucial in creating a positive, motivated and competent workforce.
According him, such effort is obtained globally towards improving both patients and providers satisfaction.
” The maiden two-day strategic management retreat is in line with the second pillar of Governor Sanwo-Olu T.H.E.M.E.S. agenda and it’s geared to take OAGH to a higher paradigm of service delivery management.
” In today’s rapid changing health-care services delivery space and as the global pandemic unfolds, employees of the institution at all levels must be adequately equipped with diverse set of competency and strength.
” This initiative will enable them to be better informed and adapt to an array of demands from our highly enlightened patients, which will further create an enviable service delivery culture that is. online with international best practices,” he said.
He added that the hospital would incorporate modern technology and deliver prompt and better services to meet patients expectations.
68 participants from different departments in OAGH participated in the programme.
