May & Baker holds board meeting on Thursday

*As Cutix appoints new CFO

Pursuant to the Exchange’s Rules, May and Baker at the weekend notified the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) and the investing public of a Board meeting of the Company scheduled to hold on 24 March 2022 to consider and approve the full year Audited Financial Statements of the Company for the year ended 31 December, 2021 and issues around dividend.

Accordingly, a closed period to prevent Insiders who have regular access to May & Baker Nigeria Plc’s financial information from trading in the shares of the Company has been in force from Saturday, 1st January 2022.

The notice which was signed by the company secretary, Mrs Adetoun Abiru, states that the closed period will be lifted 24 hours after the accounts are submitted to the Exchange following the board meeting. This is in line with the rules of NGX.

However, another listed company, Cutix Plc, has appointed a new Chief Finance Officer (CFO) for the company. With reference to the announcement dated December 22, 2021, notifying the investing public about the resignation of the Chief Finance Officer of the Company, Mrs. Favour Oti, with effect from December 17, 2021, Cutix Plc wishes to inform its shareholders that Mrs. Jane Ebere Nwabueze (ACA, CNSA), who has been in acting capacity is now the substantive Chief Finance Officer of the Company.

According to the notice signed by the Company Secretary, Chinwendu Nwokporo, (ACIS), Mrs. Nwabueze is a Chartered Accountant with 10 years of experience in accounting. She is a graduate of Accounting from Federal Polytechnic Oko, Anambra State. She joined Cutix Plc in 1992 and became head of Internal Audit Department in 1998.

In 2000, the Company conceived the idea to install Quality Management System, a process which she championed in 2006 and successfully installed ISO 9001 2000 in the Company. Sequel to that, she became a Certified National System Auditor (CNSA) in 2007. She held the post of ISO Management Representative between 2008 and 2009.

In 2010, Mrs. Nwabueze was redeployed to Finance & Accounts Department and became the head of Treasury Unit. In 2012, she became the Skill Certification Administrator of the Company until 2013 when she was appointed the head of Management Account Unit.
