Kano Fire Service receives 63 distress calls in 2 weeks-Spokesman

The Kano State Fire Service on Wednesday said it received 63 distress calls from different parts of the state in two weeks.

The Public Relations Officer of the service, AlhajiSaidu Mohammed, disclosed this in Kano.Mohammed said the calls emanated from road accidents, fire disasters and gas cooker-induced fire incidents.

Giving the breakdown, he said 15 calls were received on fire incidents, 41 for rescue while seven were false alarms.

The spokesman advised the public to always exercise caution with electrical appliances and stop storing petroleum products in shops and homes.He also stressed the need to keep gas cylinders in well-ventilated places.

Mohammed also advised road users to be cautious when driving and always obey traffic rules and regulations.
