Super Nigeria possible says ADC, as youths adopt party

By Adeleye Adeyemi

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) says a super Nigeria is possible if Nigerian youths, home and abroad, wake up to take up leadership positions with a reawakened national consciousness.

The National Chairman of the party, Chief Ralph Nwosu made this remark at a news conference in Lagos organised by the Nigerian Youths Home and Diaspora Electoral College Institution to adopt the ADC as the party all young aspirants for elective positions could contest.

Nwosu, who was represented by the ADC’s National Vice President (North Central), Peter Ede, said that an awesome and excellent Nigeria was tied to reawakening of national consciousness and inclusiveness.

“Our mentality need a to be changed, our orientation needs to change. We must build the people’s minds. A super Nigeria is very possible because we are unique people.

“It is now left for Nigeria to have national consciousness. To make Nigeria super, Nigerian youths now need to look deeply into themselves and take possession the country and create a better tomorrow.

“A super Nigeria is possible. ADC is out to run an inclusive government and that is what Nigeria needs now,” he said.

Nwosu said that the party was happy to be adopted by the youths being youth compliant platform, to run for elective positions, saying the party was unawares of the online polls that it won.

According to him, in 2018, former President Olusegun Obasanjo also presented ADC to Nigerians as credible alternative, saying the party remained a credible third force political party, having won some seats in 2019 elections.
“Our members all over the country have the DNA of integrity. Home and Abroad, ADC hold that latest diapora audience and the diaporans what to bring the needed change to Nigeria through the ADC.

“ADC is not like every other party, we work through a system that promote unity, peace, developments, security and freedom of press. We are looking at a system that works and brings development and security.

“Whoever that queries God for almagating Nigeria should be the first to step out of the country. All we need is a system that works.

“When there are jobs for the youths, food for the hungry, justice, inclusiveness, cutting the cost of Governance, good education and development, there will be security,” Nwosu said.
He said that party would do the youth proud and that by 2023, the party would take over the leadership of the country, having being dominated by great people of integrity, discipline, honour and intellect.

He said that youths must learnt to cut cost of governance, manage our diversity, saying the nation’s strength was in its diversity and not in secession.

Speaking, Chief Vincent Ubani, the Global Director-General of the Nigeria Youth Headquarters NYCSRF Safe Life and President Coalition of Young Candidates that contested for 2019 General Election in Nigeria, under Not Too Young To Run Initiative, said it was time youths took over leadership.

Ubani, who is also the Head, Nigerian Youths Home and Diaspora Electoral College Panel Committee and Initiator Nigerian Youths Home and Diaspora Electoral College Institution (NYHDECI) urged youths to resist whatever could destabilise the nation.

Ubani, a 2019 Governorship Candidate of African Action Congress (AAC) in Abia, said: “It is time for the youth to take over leadership but to do so, we must come together to get involved in politics.

“We shall run one party system for young aspirants/candidates just to ensure that we are all in accord. In February 2021, we carried out an online voting having a young party that is youth friendly which include AA, AAC, ADC, RMP and YPP.

“After the online voting, the ADC won the vote with 40 per cent of the vote, followed by the YPP as declared on March 27, 2021.

“We are here today to announce officially to Nigerian citizens, home and Diaspora, and importantly our youths and students nationwide, young leaders as candidates and aspirants, we have all resolved collapse all our structure to ADC structures,” he said.

He said that the group had adopted ADC as credible alternative for youths to run for elections in Nigeria to ensure brighter future for the nation.

Ubani presented to the party the Certificate of Return as the winner of the 2021 Youth Takeover Leadership Electoral College Committee on behalf of the Coalition.

He said that the coalition would also call for a national youth summit and young party candidates national convention before the 2023 general elections.

In his remarks, Maurice Ebam, the National Youth Leader of ADC, as Nigerian Youths Home and Abroad affirmed and adopted ADC, Nigerian youths must unite in their strength as ADC remain a credible alternative to create a progressive Nigeria of the Youths’ dream.
