She said it was of great advantage to her because she had pre knowledge of the fact that one has to space child bearing so as not to get old so soon.

She said it gives room for proper planning on child bearing and nurturing as the case may be and more advantageous compared to having to terminate a foetus due to unwanted pregnancy.

She advised women to limit their children to three in the family for proper planning and upbringing..

She said she got to know about the program through awareness by the organizers while passing by and opted for the implant type.

Mrs Modinat Omowunmi, health officer, Odi-Olowo, Lagos said there was need for the program to take place as women needs to know what was at stake in child bearing.

She said that the contraceptives are good but test has to be run on users to know the best for individuals.

She said that the programme has been on for sometime and this was second time she was participating and it has been helpful since it has been introduced.

Mr Mohammed Abdullahi, community orientation mobilizer officer, Mushin, Lagos, National Orientation Agency (NOA) said the notice to the sensitisation programme was short but the turn out was on high side.

Abdullahi said he has to make himself available to ensure the exercise was successful in commemoration of ‘world contraceptives day’ to educate the Mushin indigene and Nigeria at large on the importance of contraceptives usage.

“Child spacing has come to play as both parties (husband and wife) has to put understanding in place and concrete evidences to back it up.

“Planning is so important to the family so as to cater for the number of children they can raise successfully” he said.
